Although integral membrane proteins represent up to one third of all
eukaryotic and bacterial proteins, elucidation of their
three-dimensional structure is slow compared to that of soluble
targets. The application of structural proteomics strategies has
become a new route for the structure determination of membrane
proteins. This workshop will bring together experts in membrane
proteins and structural genomics to explore the perspectives and the
current methodologies of these strategies on the structure determination of
membrane proteins. The meeting will be of medium size with about 60
participants,
intending to create an intensive atmosphere for scientific discussion
and exchange. In addition to invited lectures there will be contributed
poster presentations.

The International Workshop will take place at the conference centre "Schloß Rauischholzhausen". The castle was constructed between 1871 and 1878 and is surrounded by an English-style park. More information on the history of the castle can be found here.
"Schloß Rauischholzhausen" is located near Marburg. The conference site can be reached by car via A45 or A5 to Gießen. It can also be reached via the international airport at Frankfurt followed by a short train ride to Marburg. There is a bus service to Rauischholzhausen leaving from Marburg central railway station five times a day.
